DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, May 22\, 2025  - 7:00-8:00pm\nA Healthy Soil Food Web\nJoin us as we explore the microorganisms that form a healthy soil food web and why they are important. Learn how a healthy soil food web leads to increased nutrient cycling for plants\, builds soil structure\, suppresses pests and disease\, and provides nutrient dense food. Debbi Weber is an Alberta Registered Professional Forester (RPF) and president of The Living Edge Inc.\nWith more than 20 years experience as a consultant\, in private industry and local government\, Debbi uses her enhanced understanding of the natural environment\, asset management\, infrastructure and political acumen\, to facilitate land development opportunities\, collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals\, facilitate discussions with stakeholders\, and create partnerships with academia\, industry and communities to address complex climate-induced challenges. Debbi provides a strategic focus\, brings innovative solutions and remains goal oriented to provide clients with value-added results. Her strength is in the details when managing complex projects and working with multiple stakeholders.Currently\, working in a strategic capacity within municipal government\, Debbi provides research on emerging opportunities and trends in local government\, supports developers\, and promotes joint regional opportunities for collaboration. \nDebbi shares her knowledge and wisdom as an instructor for Alberta’s first and most extensive organic and regenerative Master Gardener program offered through the Heritage Agricultural Society in cooperation with Gaia College and the Society of Organic Urban Landcare (SOUL). She is currently studying to become a Certified Soil Food Web Consultant through Dr. Elaine Ingham’s Soil Food Web School. She has a strong passion for regenerative land practices that restore soil and ecosystem health\, and improves food security.
